Spiral Construction – Commercial Solar PV extension

We have recently installed an additional 39.36kW for a returning customer, Spiral Construction. This Solar PV extension includes the following:

96x JA Solar 410W Solar Panels

Solis 3 phase Inverters

Renusol Metasol Mounting System

Our previous installation

The first installation at Spiral was completed during 2014 and takes advantage of a South East direction. Averaging more than 28,000kWh of annual generation for the last decade, this system has benefited from feed in tariff payments as well as onsite consumption of solar energy.

The new Solar PV extension

The new Solar array could have been placed alongside the existing one, taking advantage of the South Easterly morning sunshine. After speaking with Spiral we recommended the new installation be placed on the more west-facing roof, to maximise daylight hours and increase onsite consumption later in the day.

Combining the two roof spaces, Spiral will now generate throughout the full sun rise and set, taking huge advantage of both arrays.

The benefits

This new array has an estimated generation of 33534.72kW units per year, giving an attractive payback period of under 4 years. Our installation team on the roof included Simon, Ian, Fionn and Kyran with the electrical team including Adam, Mike and Cameron. Both teams worked together effectively and were able to complete this install in just 1 week. We were able to reduced disruption for Spiral in their usual working day.
