Over the past couple of years, our client has been rebuilding his home to a high-end finish, with a strong focus on energy efficiency and sustainability. Given the island’s unique location and reliance on imported energy, the Solar PV and Air Source Heat Pump systems were ideal for reducing the carbon footprint and lowering long-term energy costs.
To bring the project to life, we worked closely with the client and Pete Gilbert, a local installer on the island. Together, we ensured the installation was seamlessly integrated and tailored to the specific needs of the property.
We have estimated that this system will save the homeowner over £600 a year on energy bills and reduce the property’s carbon footprint by cutting down an estimated 1.15 tonnes of CO2 each year. As a result, these savings make the home more affordable to run while also supporting a cleaner, more sustainable environment.
Our client took advantage of the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, which helped offset the cost of the installation. This government-backed initiative makes it easier for homeowners to upgrade to more energy-efficient heating systems.
By integrating these systems, we’ve helped our client achieve an A rating on their Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). This improvement in energy efficiency comes from the carefully chosen renewable technologies and efficient heating solutions. The high EPC rating ensures the home is environmentally sustainable and helps lower energy costs.
