Heat Pump & Solar PV Installation in Flushing, Cornwall
Project Overview
GreenGenUK recently helped a homeowner in Flushing, Cornwall, transition away from oil heating and towards a cleaner, more sustainable energy solution. By combining an air source heat pump with a solar PV and battery storage system, the customer can now enjoy lower energy bills, improved efficiency, and a significantly reduced carbon footprint.
The Heating Upgrade – From Oil to Air Source
The old oil boiler was replaced with a highly efficient Mitsubishi Ecodan R290 6kW air source heat pump, paired with a 250-litre Telford Tempest unvented cylinder. To maximise efficiency and comfort, we also installed eight upgraded radiators sized to suit the property’s heat loss requirements.

The Solar & Battery System
To complement the heat pump, we designed and installed a 3.72kWp solar PV array with integrated battery storage.
- 8 x Aiko Neostar 465W all-black solar panels
- Renusol mounting system for a sleek roof finish
- 1 x GivEnergy 3.6kW hybrid inverter
- 1 x GivEnergy 9.5kWh battery for energy storage
Performance highlights:
CO₂ savings of over 900kg per year, equivalent to planting 174 trees over the system’s lifetime
Generates around 3,561 kWh per year
Expected 60% energy independence with battery storage
Projected £32,185 lifetime bill savings with a 9-year payback period
