Helston Light and Life Church Goes Green

Just a stone’s throw from our Helston headquarters, GreenGenUK recently completed another commercial solar and battery installation in Cornwall, this time for Helston Light and Life Church. Located just a few hundred metres from our office (and not far from another happy customer, Scorse Foods), the church is now embracing a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.
The System
Designed by our Commercial Solar Sales Consultant Jack Dempsey, the system features:
- 48 x JA Solar 450W modules (Total: 21.6kW)
- Solis 3-phase Hybrid Inverter
- Pylontech Powercube H2 HV Stack – 42.62kWh
This hybrid solar and battery setup is expected to generate over 23,000kWh of renewable electricity annually, helping the church significantly reduce both its energy bills and its environmental footprint.
Smart Storage = Smart Savings
With the battery system storing excess solar energy, the church is projected to achieve over 75% on-site energy consumption—an impressive figure that ensures maximum benefit from self-generated power. The battery also provides flexibility for usage during evenings and cloudier days when solar output may drop.
Long-Term Impact
Over a 25-year period, the system is estimated to offset more than 100 tonnes of CO₂, supporting the church’s mission of stewardship and sustainability. This project showcases how even modest-sized commercial properties can benefit from solar and battery storage.
Shoutout to the Team Behind the Install
A big thank you to the GreenGenUK team who delivered this project to a fantastic standard:
🛠️ Installers: Zakk, Treeve, Orley, Ben M, Millie and Liam
📋 Project Management: Jack Sherlock
Their attention to detail and teamwork ensured a smooth installation and a system built to last.
