Aiko Solar & Sigenergy Installation – Ruan Minor, Cornwall

GreenGenUK recently completed an Aiko Solar PV and Sigenergy Battery installation in Ruan Minor, just a short distance from our offices in Helston, Cornwall. The project was designed to give the homeowner greater control over their energy use, reducing reliance on the grid and cutting bills for years to come.
The System
We installed a 4.7kW solar PV system using 10 x Aiko 470W all-black panels, chosen for their sleek appearance, high efficiency, and 30-year performance warranty. To maximise the benefits, the system was paired with a 16.12kWh Sigenergy battery and SigenStor hybrid inverter, allowing excess solar to be stored and used when needed.
- 4.7kW Solar PV – 10 x Aiko 470W panels
- 16.12kWh Battery Storage – Sigenergy SigenStor
- 3.68kW Hybrid Inverter – SigenStor EC 3.6SP
The Benefits
The system is expected to generate around 4,869 kWh per year, supplying approximately 75% of the property’s annual electricity demand. Thanks to the addition of battery storage, grid independence is boosted to 65%, helping protect against future energy price rises.
Financial projections show:
- £1,242 annual electricity bill savings
- £73,200 lifetime savings
- Payback in just over 8 years
Environmental Impact
Over its lifetime, this installation will deliver major environmental benefits, equivalent to:
- Avoiding 37,000+ km of car travel
- Offsetting the planting of 238 trees
- Preventing emissions equal to 27 long-haul flights
This is another installation that demonstrates how combining Aiko’s premium solar panels with Sigenergy battery storage creates a highly efficient, future-ready system. The homeowner now enjoys lower energy bills, greater energy independence, and the peace of mind that comes from powering their home with clean, renewable electricity.
