What does the farming grant mean?

The Improving Farming Productivity grant represents a significant opportunity for farmers, growers, and related contractors to enhance their operations. It supports investments in capital items aimed at boosting farm and horticulture productivity. Eligible investments include robotic and automated equipment, as well as solar PV installations. These investments aim to improve crop and livestock production while facilitating the transition to renewable energy in farming practices.

For robotic and automated equipment, the grant offers substantial financial support. The minimum grant available is £25,000, with a maximum of £500,000. This funding covers up to 50% of the total costs associated with eligible equipment purchases.

In the case of solar PV installations, the grant supports initiatives to harness renewable energy on farms. The minimum grant available is £15,000, and the maximum grant is £100,000. This funding covers up to 25% of the costs related to installing solar equipment.
