The Princess Royal will be attending the opening day of the 2015 Devon County show on Thursday, 21 May.
This will be the first time Princess Anne has visited the Devon County Show at its new location in Westpoint, Exeter having visited the show previously in 1985 when it was held at its former location in Whipton city.
David Parish, President of the Devon County Agricultural Association, will accompany Princess Anne at the event.
He said earlier this week that “Her Royal Highness is a great champion for farming and rural issues just as the Devon County Show is a terrific showcase for farming and rural life.”
The Princess Royal’s attendance is likely to be a key attraction and talking point as the show kicks off on May 21st and celebrated its 120th anniversary. The Devon County Show is the first major agricultural event on the South West’s calendar.
The three day event is expected at attract in excess of 95,000 visitors and highlights the importance and relevance of food, farming and country life.
