Heating and Energy Upgrades in Devon

heating and energy ugrades devon

Our client in Yelverton, Devon, was undergoing a significant renovation and extension project for their 1950s bungalow, seeking to modernise their home while improving its energy efficiency. With a strong focus on sustainability, the customer explored various options for heating and energy upgrades to reduce their environmental impact. After thorough consideration, they decided to enhance their property with an air source heat pump and a solar PV system.

This system includes:

Modules 9 x JA Solar Mono All Black 440w
Inverter – Solis 3.6kW S6 Dual MPPT

Why this combination?

The combination of the JA Solar Mono All Black 440W modules and Solis 3.6kW S6 Dual MPPT inverter, offers excellent performance, efficiency, and reliability for the customer’s energy needs.

  • JA Solar 440W Modules: These high-efficiency solar panels provide reliable and powerful energy generation. The “All Black” design adds a sleek, modern aesthetic while delivering strong performance, even in lower light conditions.
  • Solis 3.6kW Inverter: This inverter maximises energy conversion from the solar panels, ensuring the system operates at its best. With Dual MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking), it allows for more efficient energy harvesting from different parts of the roof, ensuring optimal performance even if panels are partially shaded.

Together, this combination provides a robust, scalable, and cost-effective renewable energy solution, ensuring the home is powered by clean energy, reducing reliance on the grid, and delivering long-term savings.

Air Source Heat Pump

In addition to the solar system, the customer also chose to upgrade their heating system by installing the Mitsubishi R32 8.5kW Ultra Quiet Air to Water Heat Pump along with a 300L Single Coil Cylinder. This heat pump is an energy-efficient solution that provides both heating and hot water for the home, replacing the outdated boiler system.

The Mitsubishi R32 heat pump is both efficient and quiet, operating smoothly without disturbing the home’s tranquillity. Its use of the R32 refrigerant also makes it a more environmentally friendly option compared to older systems, offering a lower global warming potential.

By taking full advantage of the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, the customer was able to significantly reduce the upfront costs of this energy-efficient heating solution. The heat pump works seamlessly with the solar panels and battery storage, creating a well-rounded, sustainable energy system that not only reduces energy bills but also minimises the home’s carbon footprint.
