Having installed an air source heat pump for the organisation in 2014, GreenGenUK recently completed a 30kW commercial solar PV installation for Wendron Cricket Club.
As part of Wendron Cricket Club’s plan for development, it was their intention to install a solar PV array on their newly built football grandstand. We were tasked with designing a solar system that would achieve a 30kW output in the roof space provided and that ensured a highly professional, aesthetically pleasing appearance on a site that will be visited by numerous football players and spectators each week.
Happy with the 14kW Mitsubishi Ecodan air source heat pump installed previously, GreenGen were the only company tasked with tenuring for this project. After adjusting the proposals slightly to meet the needs of the club, the customer decided to opt for two 4kW solar PV arrays to be installed on another section of the club’s premises (see here), in addition to the 30kW array that was installed on the grandstand.
System Specifics
The final installed PV system consisted of:
120 x 250W all-black SolarWorld solar PV panels
1 x Sunny Tripower 25000TL-30 solar inverter
1 x Renusol Trap roof mounting system
1 x Elster three-phase generation metre
System Benefits
As with all of our projects, GreenGen provided the customer with detailed, accurate, RECC (Renewable Energy Consumer Code) compliant predictions on the financial and environmental benefits of this 30kW commercial solar PV installation to the customer. The following are estimations on how this installation is anticipated to benefit the customer:
Total solar generation: 30090 kilowatt-hours of electricity each year
Feed-in Tariff generation tariff payments: £3400 each year for 20 years
Feed-in Tariff export tariff payments: £730 each year for 20 years
Electricity savings (calculated at 50 percent of generation): £2105 each year for the lifetime of the system
Carbon reduction: 12.94 tonnes each year for the lifetime of the system
By combining these benefits together, GreenGenUK calculated that this system will have a total annual benefit of £6235, a total lifetime benefit of £143,945.00 and a payback period of 4.36 years.
