This 11.2kW Mitsubishi Ecodan air source heat pump now provides 100% of this large new build’s space heating and hot water demand.

Air source heating provides this home with lower energy bills and running costs than a non-renewable heating alternative. In addition, the customer is eligible for lucrative RHI payments for 7 years.
System Specifications
The installed renewable heating solution consists of:
– an 11.2kW Mitsubishi Ecodan air source heat pump
– a 250L unvented, single-coiled hot water cylinder
Running Costs
Highly efficient technologies, air source heat pumps provide lower running costs than most traditional heating systems.
Based on the heat demand and energy efficiency of the property, this 11.2kW Mitsubishi Ecodan is predicted to cost less than £600 a year to run. At current energy prices, this represents a £300 annual saving over oil heating.
The Renewable Heat Incentive
Air source heat pumps are eligible for government incentive through the Renewable Heat Incentive. Basically, the RHI pays customers for every kilowatt of renewable heat generated by their system over a period of 7 years. MCS accredited renewable heating solutions installed by MCS accredited installers are eligible to access the RHI scheme.
Based on the predicted heat demand of the property and the efficiency of the 11.2kW Mitsubishi Ecodan installed by GreenGen, this customer is set to earn in excess of £5,000 in RHI payments.
Find further information on the RHI scheme on our ‘Renewable Incentives‘ page. Alternatively, visit Ofgem’s dedicated RHI website.
Carbon Reduction
By opting for a renewable solution, the environmental impact of this new dwelling is reduced. As a result, replacing demand from harmful fuels such as gas and oil with free, clean heat from the air creates a reduction in the carbon out of the building.
Over 3 tonnes of CO2 output will be saved each year thanks to this air source heat pump installation.
Is Air Source Heating right for you?
Air source heating is particularly advantageous for any customers planning a new build or looking to attain planning permission for a project.
Heat pumps go above and beyond the standard for SAP ratings. They are also an ideal alternative for properties in off-gas regions. Learn more about air source heat pumps on our ‘Air Source Heat Pumps‘ page.
