It was out with the old oil boiler and in with the new Mitsubishi Ecodan installation for this Cornwall-based customer.
Already benefiting from a solar PV installation combined with a Solar iBoost hot water diverter, the Looe-based customer was keen to swap their heating from their archaic oil boiler to a more friendly, renewable alternative. The customer contacted GreenGenUK online to get the ball rolling.
This Mitsubishi Ecodan Installation
The single air source heat pump easily satisfies the property’s heat demand despite spanning three storeys and covering over 275m2. In order to appropriately and efficiently supply the property’s heating and hot water load, GreenGenUK undertook the following installation:
– An 11.2kW Ultra Quiet Mitsubishi Ecodan air source heat pump and FTC5 controller
– A 250-litre Mitsubishi pre-plumbed, specialist unvented heat pump cylinder
The system works alongside the existing radiators to provide all the home’s heating and hot water. The Solar iBoost will help to further offset running costs with surplus solar during the summer supplying hot water demand.
Benefits of this Mitsubishi Ecodan Installation
Firstly, by opting to replace their oil boiler with an environmentally friendly air source heat pump, the home’s carbon footprint has been reduced by several tonnes per year.
In addition, the home and the customer now benefits from:
+ Forecasted annual heating savings in excess of £500
+ In excess of £1,400-a-year in annual Renewable Heat Incentive payments
+ A return of their invest within 6 years (fuel savings in combination with RHI payments)
+ A 10-year benefit of over £19,000
What the Customer had to say about GreenGenUK and their Mitsubishi Ecodan Installation
Shortly after their 11.2kW Ultra Quiet Mitsubishi Ecodan installation, the customer had this to say about their system and GreenGenUK:
“Just a quick message to say that we have been very impressed with the way Shaun, George and Ben have worked over the past three days transforming our house from an oil heated dinosaur to an electrically heated house courtesy of an air source heat pump.
The radiators are to the feel if anything a little warmer than they were when heated by oil which was a pleasant surprise.
Many thanks for all your help.”
